DO NO EVIL: THE SOCIETY #4 BY IVY FOX REVIEW

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5

I TRULY DON'T have WORDS to describe this book, it was such a marvellous experience, this is how a mystery book should be like, a complete MINDFUCK. When you think something happened one way everything turns out proving just how wrong you were, the plot twists, the angst, the characters and the romance... everything just goes differently from what you thought and that's just the charm in it!!

I LOVED EVERY TORTUROUS SECOND OF THIS MAGNIFICENT BOOK!!

This is the result when a book has the perfect amount (or ratio) of darkness, mystery, romance and erotism (sex), PERFECTION.

After everything that happened in book three, you come to this with some theories and ideas in your head..  just to be blown away by everything and even though this book starts from the very beginning, how they all met, it's primordial to read the other books first in their specific order.

Let's start, this review stating a few facts:

The sexual content this book DOES CONTAIN sex, Ivy Fox likes her books with sex, but the important thing within this book that makes it different from others, it's that while this book DOES have sex, it ALSO have A LOT of PLOT and I mean A LOT. It's impossible in this book for the sexual content to out balance the plot, so there's not the usual problem with too much sex and no plot.

That being said, let's go on, the PLOT in this book is HUGE, extended and really twisted, to be honest, but as the story developed I wasn't bored a single second, there was so many things going on, you many unanswered questions that you wanted those answers, the book goes way back in time, from the very beginning to the present, explaining everything you couldn’t understand before and showing new things you couldn't even imagine, there are really a few surprises that Ivy did keep really well hidden. I won't say much regarding the mysteries and plot twists (sorry!) but it's really worth it, the story makes sense at the end and everything it's surprising and straight up twisted.

This book IT'S A DARK ROMANCE so let's never forget that there's a darkness to it and probably this book was the darkest and more twisted of them all, which I really loved, there are also some TRIGGER WARNINGS:

□ Rape and multiple mentions of rape

□ Sexual Harassment

□ Drug abuse

□ Domestic Violence

□ Self-harming

Although the plot isn't exactly centered towards any of those triggers, because most of them happen to supporting characters, even though, I feel like I should let everyone know this beforehand in case someone is sensitive to any of these triggers.

The ROMANCE , I was gladly surprised in this context of the book, because Lincoln and Kennedy had incredible chemistry but they were even really soulmates. Their love was beautiful, twisted and painful. I didn’t expect what we got but I'm so glad for it, I don’t think Ivy could have done it better. This book it's REALLY ROMANTIC, the two MC's are in love with each since the beginning to the end, as it's shown in the previous books, the tropes for this book's romance are a few:

♡ Best friends to lovers

♡ Virgins

♡ Possesive Heroine

♡ Soulmates

There's few O/M drama with Kennedy but nothing to worry about BELIEVE ME!! There's no cheating and both mc's remain each others love interests throughout the years.

The CHARACTERS , now here we got some of the big surprises (I won't say much more, sorry again!), but the characters in this book were a 10/10, and the best one was probably Lincoln followed very closely by Kennedy.

♤ LINCOLN he's the one character who has remained the most mysterious and more enigmatic throughout the series, the most interesting one for the last. His character development is really extraordinary, how he goes from childhood to adulthood, his personality development, questioning his moral, his deviations... he really impressed me as a hero (I really don't want to spoil much) but his connection with his friends was truly beautiful in special with Colt, their bond was the most beautiful and mesmerising.

It’s only when my manic state dissolves that I realize the person that was holding on to me all along was, in fact, my beloved cousin—Colt.

My brother, in all the ways that really count.

His loyalty and love are what snap me out of my suffering state.

I call Teddy a monster for his brutality and soullessness, but am I any better? Coveting my own flesh and blood?

What other thing can I be if not a depraved monstrosity? I curse the blood that runs in my veins with the same fervor I curse hers.

“Is this what you want, ...? To make a fiendish monster out of me again? To make me take what isn’t mine? What can never be mine?”

♧ KENNEDY she's a fucking fighter, I really didn't expect her, she's one of the best heroines throughout all the series, probably a favourite, her resilience, her fierceness, her protectiveness for her family (friends), her strength after going through everything she had to without anyone to help her and her mother dying when she was only a child. She really went above my expectations, and to be honest I was biased against her in the beginning of the book but she just bought her way to my heart being the strong and caring woman she was.

One day, I’ll show them both how wrong they are in underestimating me.

He would kill for me. Just as I have killed for him.

"Take hydrochloric acid, for example. Do you know what acid does to the skin? No? Well, let me educate you. It burns human flesh in seconds, eating away at the blood cells, the smell so repugnant it will be the only thing you smell for days... Accidents happen every day, especially to people who don’t know who they are fucking with.”

"Somewhere along the line, while we were fighting monsters, we became them, too."

Other supporting characters such as, TommyboyJeffMeredithColleenTeddy,   SierraDorothea were very interesting too and key (important) for the story and how everything unfolds. Their characters development was surprising in some cases and highly interesting, the nature of some of their actions and events... this book helped understand a lot of unknowns that were bugging my mind for months.

"I still have the scars from the last time I tried to be your knight in shining armor. The role never suited me anyway.”

“I know you don’t, sweetheart. But one day, you will,” she adds, only adding to my confusion. “We women have to be clever when dealing with our enemies. It’s best not to be feared since fear leads to suspicion. You should be seen in a light that deems you incapable of raining vengeance on your enemies. That way, they never see you coming for them.”

“Love is a word the poor and feeble-minded throw around to give their pitiful excuse of a life meaning. I taught you better than to give credence to such infantile notions. Power and prestige are the only things that hold true value in this world. We tried and failed to achieve the first. Now it’s time we focus our efforts on the latter.”

“Do I really spend that much time looking at myself in the mirror?”

“Look at me, Lincoln. You are a Richfield. That is all that matters. Do you understand me?”

After all this, I can only say that the ending is absolutely amazing, in accordance with the rest of the book!!

There are no cliffhangers as this is the last book for this group of friends.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK, I HOPE YOU ENJOY AND LOVE IT AS MUCH AS I DID!! ❤πŸ–€❤πŸ–€

Happy reading everyone!!πŸ’—

KINGDOM OF THE WICKED BY KERRI MANISCALCO

 ⭐⭐⭐ 3/5

**SPOILER ALERT**

This book, what can I say about it, a lot of things really. I liked the overall idea for the book BUT I think it was underdeveloped. The witches, the demon Princes, minor demons, grimoires, covens, Sicily, the murders, the witch hunters, the God brothers... were really good ideas but something was missing.

I liked some things and disliked a few other, the characters... are another story.

What I liked from this book apart from the <>overall idea> are the following points:

◇ WRATH He's for sure the most interesting son of a b*tch in the entire book, he remains an enigma till the end, he still is. The few times he appears in the book everything becomes more questionable and more enigmatic, everything makes no sense when he enters the picture (if that makes any sense πŸ˜…).

◇ The murders this was one of the things that called me to this book, the MYSTERY, the beginning of the book started really strong with the murder of the sister, the man (W) licking the blood off his fingers, the missing heart... was a bit satanic, but very interesting and fitting to the book genre and plot.

◇ The "ROMANCE" , who the come from "enemies to lovers", I guess if could call them enemies. I really didn't see much enmity between them, apart from the occasional bickering, the name calling 'Demon' or 'Witch', they were more allies than enemies. But I guess the progression of their relationship was interesting enough because it made the book lighter, attractive and more interesting.

Now the I'm going to be brutally honest here, I'm DISAPPOINTED with this book, I expected more from a mystery paranormal YA book, there were just things that were too obvious, parts were there was too little of everything and chapters that were just plain BORING.

○ EMILIA was an annoying heroine, an really take the damsel in distress syndrome to another level... I don’t enjoy heroines like that, she was repetitive, always saying the same thing again and again... like a vicious cycle, she was never strong enough to fight her own battles bit she always came out unscathed (how unbelievable I must say), she was plain DUMB, the answers were IN FRONT of her all this time she just didn't see them because she's too stupid for her own good. I disliked her character.

I’d lost all memories of spells or healing charms. I’d shut down and let fear take control. (She didn't defend herself, AGAIN, *ROLLING EYES*)

○ MORE ACTION , I expected more action being this book (again) a Mystery PARANORMAL YA, MORE WITCHCRAFT just more but there was too little of everything and our heroine didn't even know how to do most of the spells, really dissatisfied.

○ How is POSSIBLE our WICKED PRINCES were so laid back?? The only comforting we get it's at the end when Envy shows a little devilness opening his brother up. They were too soft for a dark prince.

○ To be even more BRUTAL, the mystery was too obvious , by the 30-35% you already know who the killer is, who the mastermind is and who is the owner of the minor demons, Although that didn't bother me much, it's real that it does happen, so it's not a positive point.

But in overall, it's an okay reading if you have nothing better to do and if you like SEXY TATTOOED DEMON PRINCES. The book it's not that bad but it's just not that good either.

~☆~☆~☆~

THEORY VS. REALITY

“They appear human but their ebony eyes are tinged red, and their skin is hard as stone. Whatever you do, you must never speak to the Wicked. If you see them, hide. Once you’ve caught a demon prince’s attention, he’ll stop at nothing to claim you. They are midnight creatures, born of darkness and moonlight. And they seek only to destroy. Guard your hearts; if given the chance they’ll rip them from your chests and guzzle your blood as it steams in the night.”

“You’re bloodthirsty demons. You’ve got red flecks in your eyes, your skin is like ice, you’re beautiful, and your kisses are addictive enough to make someone sell their soul for another." THEORY

“It’s nice to know you find me so attractive, but I’m not one of those demons. My eyes aren’t red. And if you’d like to find out if my skin is warmer than ice, that can easily be arranged.” REALITY

~☆~☆~☆~

Emilia’s cornicello was made of silver, and Vittoria’s gold. The girls weren’t allowed to bring them together, or something terrible would happen. According to Nonna it would be like forcing the sun and moon to share the sky, bringing the world into an eternal twilight. THEORY

“Here,” she commanded, “take it.”

Emilia hesitated only a minute before clasping the golden horn in her palm.

A shimmering lavender-black light exploded from their amulets, startling Emilia enough that she dropped her sister’s necklace. REALITY

Happy reading you all!!! Hope you are all enjoying your books!! ❤πŸ’œ

FROM BLOOD AND ASH BY JENNIFER L. ARMENTROUT REVIEW

⭐ 1.5/5

** spoiler alert **

THIS BOOK WAS TORTURE IN CAPITAL LETTERS

NEVER in ALL my life have I took soooo long to read ONE book, this book was IT for me. It really didn't do it for me. I'll start listing all the things why THIS BOOK was torture, not even my worst enemy deserves.

■ POPPY , one of the worst heroines I have ever read, the author tried (very hard, I must admit) to portrayed her as an strong and intelligent woman, but in reality she's annoying, stupid and codependent. She would laugh without reason, there were clues IN FRONT of her about the truth, of who Hawke really was but she was too stupid to pay any attention (really she was clueless πŸ˜‘).

After counting the times she laughs, giggles or snickers without reason sums up to more or less 25 in total. πŸ˜ͺ

He actually bowed, with such elaborate flourish that a laugh crept up my throat.

A hysterical giggle climbed its way up my throat. He honestly had no idea who he stood next to.

Then he moved in that way that always made it hard to believe he wasn’t an Ascended. In a heartbeat, I was in his arms... (In this kind of scenes where he would move fast or his mouth would linger on her neck, she was truly maddening)

“Yes—” She started to dip, almost as if she were sinking into some sort of curtsy, but then stopped halfway. (Magda here, is a pregnant woman bowing before the Prince Casteel and our dear Maiden can't even see that *ROLLING MY EYES*)

■ the LENGTH of this book was HORRORIFIC. The book was LONG, DRAGING AND BORING, the book was like 454 pages and in 200 pages NOTHING HAPPENS, there's a bottomless pit of boredom. This book would have done much better without the 200 pages of NOTHINGNESS.

■ What's with the author at the beginning of the book and leaving the readers lost, without any descriptions or clarification of what her beasts or monsters were, because for the good 15-20% of the book you know nothing of what in the hell are The Ascended, the Descenters, The Craven (you can more or less take a guess they are a hybrid between a zombie and a vampyr) and a Atlantian. If you're writing a FANTASY book, please descriptions are important, they provide they readers with the tools necessary to imagine the world building in our minds!!

■ The cringe and sweetness in this book is in another level of uncomfortable, I had itching and uncontrolled eye rolls, throughout the entire book, I highly NOT recommend this book if you're eating for high risk of vomiting.

“I would do this.” His fingers pressed in, a little harder, a little rougher, and my legs jerked. “I would get inside of you, Poppy. I would taste you. I bet you’re as sweet as honeydew.”

“Honeydew,” he growled. “Just like I said.”

■ NO INTERESTING CHARACTERS but CASTEEL and maybe the Ascended Queen. The other characters were uninteresting, dull and too common.

■ The scene were Casteel feeds Poppy his blood, I'm just wondering if the author asked for the Twilight copyright ©️ , because reading that I asked myself if I was reading FBAA or Twilight. But that's not the only similarity to be honest, there a few others...

THE ONLY WORTHY PART OF THIS BOOK OCCURS EXACTLY from 88% onwards. That's when the book starts getting interesting, at the end of the book. When all the killing, truth unveiling and plot twists take place, the rest is BORING.

DISAPPOINTED, DISSATISFIED and BORED are my feelings with this book, I had a hard time finishing it (even my family was fed up with my for all my ranting...πŸ˜‚).

So I don't recommend this book, because it's not a light reading, and it surely bored me to death.

Now happy reading everyone!! ❤πŸ–€

P.S. Sorry for my ranting and thanks for bearing with me!! πŸ’—πŸ’—

THE QUEEN OF NOTHING BY HOLLY BLACK REVIEW

 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.5/5

**spoiler alert **

THE END TO A GREAT TRILOGY, A FANTASTICAL WORLD, FULL OF GREAT CHARACTERS AND PLOT TWISTS!!

I'm quite sad, to have to say goodbye to this awesome series, which i greatly appreciated and enjoyed. This book didn't disappoint either, although, I personally have to say my favourite is The Wicked King, this one was very good too.

The story did deviate a little from the previous books, new additions like curses, new characters, a serpent (I'm leaving it at that...), more treachery but less than in the previous, some action in this one, sweet and endearing scenes that were quite delightful.

But the star that shined the brightest throughout the whole book was CARDAN not JUDE but him. Reasons:
☆ His character development in each book is amazing and in this book was astounding, he transformed himself into a perfect KING, I really liked him in this book, his vulnerability, his wickedness toward his enemies, his sweetness towards Jude, his intelligence because he really is wise and he really knows what to do and how to be a king, how to help his people and how to control his Court and councils.
☆ He's magical advances in this book, were one of the best part of the book, how connected he's to land, is such a beautiful lin/connection.
☆ The ill-fated curse explained a lot of things about him, why he was raised the way he was and why anyone wanted him to be the High King.
☆ The SERPENT , this was a really unexpected plot twist, I was weirdly surprised, I can't say I liked this but in the end I can't say I disliked, it was done by the writer as a way for Jude to grew as a character and as a lover, and for CARDAN High King characterization development.
☆ The last scene was one I waited for a long time... CARDAN IN THE MORTAL WORLD!!! I really wanted to see Cardan visit the place Jude was born, and Holly did made it happen.

There are some things to say about JUDE in this book too:
□ There wasn't much character development in her case in this book, till the end of the book where she finally put others (CARDAN) before herself and matures a little. (It's great to want power I'm all for it but let's not lose ourselves along the way like it happened to her... Would I kill my enemy if he threatens me or something important to me? [hypothetically] Yes, but not if I put the people important to me at risk.)
□ I liked the scene where the land heals, that's the confirmation that she of course is the rightful High Queen of Elfhame. It was kind of romantic.
□ Her action scenes are always a plus in this book, I always like them, she's just such a fearless warrior, (I admire her in that sense a lot), the fight against Madoc was one of the best points of this book, tragically spectacular.
□ I liked to see the sisters and brother together, trying to mend their relationship and supporting each other, it was in order for Taryn to finally start actin like a twin sister instead of an enemy. I had fun reading about the rendezvous between Heather and Jude, they are such a gossipers.
□ There seems to be some who didn't like the romance between JUDE & CARDAN , for me it was one of the best parts of the book/series, how they came from enemies-[to allies]-to lovers, I enjoyed their bickering, their hot and cold, their sneaking around, their kissing in public... everything. They make a perfect HIGH ROYAL COUPLE.

The new characters where interesting additions and made the book flow easily, the older characters were as great as in the previous books, I won't spoiler much but a few things change and they make everything more interesting and a bit complicated too.
The writing style is neat, clean and as good as the previous ones, NO MISTAKES, good dialogues which make sense, the book is easy to follow and uses a descriptions to help you imagine the world Holly is trying to create through her words.

In overall, in respect to this book, I LOVED IT and I had very bad moments reading this book, where I felt very frustrated, where I hated everything in this book for not seeing the whole picture... but I had fun, I enjoyed it a lot, I couldn’t stop reading once I started and I would read it over again, because I'm so in love with these characters. So I'm going to rate it HIGH!

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book (SERIES), hope you love it and enjoy it as much as I did!!
Happy reading everyone!!! ❤❤

QUOTES:

Mock me all you like. Whatever I imagined then, now it is I who would beg and grovel for a kind word from your lips.” His eyes are black with desire. “By you, I am forever undone.”

“We have lived in our armor for so long, you and I. And now I am not sure if either of us knows how to remove it.”

“I missed you,” I whisper against his skin and feel dizzy with the intimacy of the admission, feel more naked than when he could see every inch of me. “In the mortal world, when I thought you were my enemy, I still missed you.”

My sweet nemesis, how glad I am that you returned.” He pulls my body against his, cradling my head against his chest. We are still lying on the floor, although a perfectly good bed is right next to us.

I think of his riddle. How do people like us take off our armor?

One piece at a time.

It’s you I love,” he says. “I spent much of my life guarding my heart. I guarded it so well that I could behave as though I didn’t have one at all. Even now, it is a shabby, worm-eaten, and scabrous thing. But it is yours.” He walks to the door to the royal chambers, as though to end the conversation. “You probably guessed as much,” he says. “But just in case you didn’t.”

THE WICKED KING BY HOLLY BLACK REVIEW

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5

FULL MARKS!!
So I liked this one more than the first, there were more characters development, more "action", more treachery, more drama like A LOT, there was ROMANCE. The story was more complete but more incomplete at the same time, THAT ENDING!!

The spectacular characterization of CARDAN in this book... no words.
□ He's up and downs, how conniving he really was, how deluded he had everyone into thinking he was a fool when indeed he's quite intelligent, and power driven too like the rest of them.
□ Although for me, he's my favourite character of them all, I specially like, how he doesn't need to cross the line (murder) to win. The only honorable thing in the whole book.
□ He's special relationship with Jude was very gratifying to read, how it developed and how it all ends in one second. They really have great chemistry and good plotting minds. They make the perfect ROYAL COUPLE.

Let's talk about the JUDE of this book:
□ She really OBTAIN power just like she wanted, at first I was happy and proud of her, but throughout the book I got the feeling more and more that she was losing herself to that power and she was turning into what she most hated, quite the hypocrisy of the year. So I had a LOVE-HATE relationship with her through almost 60% of the book.
□ Her messing with drugs, what a tenacious woman she is, I admire her for how strong she is but please let's not indulge in drugs Jude. Her sparring had quitely improved and made her more of a warrior in this book, all her action scenes were excellent, beautifully portrayed and oozed strength, the power of women.
□ I liked reading her thoughts and feelings towards CARDAN, how confused she was, how of a mess, they were and how much she would reject having l those feelings. They truly were adorably naive, trying to play dumb.
□ The strained relationship with her twin sister and his (fucker) fiancΓ¨, I really didn't liked reading about them, I didn’t trust them since the beginning, more so Locke. But at the end was quite a shock reading everything unwind. (I hope she doesn't forgive them)

This book is all about TREACHERY , 90% of the characters are all traitors, liars and fakers, some you don't even see it coming, which makes it more interesting and really FRUSTRATING, makes you wonder when you will be able yo take a breath...

The writing style was as good as the first book, NO MISTAKES, the dialogues were well written and developed, made sense too. There were descriptions and explanations of things happening and of places, the book was easy to follow and QUITE ENGAGING!!!

In the end, I LOVED this book and could not get enough of it. I'm obviously diving into the next right now.
highly recommend this book, it was and engaging and exciting reading, quite the rollercoaster but well deserved. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!!
Happy reading πŸ–€πŸ’œ

QUOTES:

“You don’t understand. She wants us to be married. She wants me to be queen.”
I am so surprised that, for a moment, I just stare at her, fighting down a kind of wild, panicky laughter. “You just shot him.”

“You think I performed a trick because Cardan likes me better than you,” I say. “But you shot at him with a crossbow bolt. Of course he likes me better.”

Nicasia frowns. “Did you kiss Cardan?”

“I don’t know if I am supposed to answer,” I say, looking around in what I hope appears like honest confusion. “But yes.”

“More than once? Does he love you?”
I didn’t realize how much she’d hoped I was lying when I’d told her I kissed him. “More than once, but no. He doesn’t love me. Nothing like it.”

“Okay,” I say. “I’ll do it. I’ll marry you.”

He slides my ruby ring off his finger. “I, Cardan, son of Eldred, High King of Elfhame, take you, Jude Duarte, mortal ward of Madoc, to be my bride and my queen. Let us be wed until we wish for it to be otherwise and the crown has passed from our hands.” (The real games begin now!)

I speak. “I, Jude Duarte, take Cardan, High King of Elfhame, to be my husband. Let us be wed until we don’t want to be and the crown has passed from our hands.”

“Cardan, son of Eldred, High King of Elfhame, I forsake any command over you. You are free of your vow of obedience, for now and for always.” (Now! It's getting even more interesting and more exciting, a King's games now.)

I have become the Queen of Faerie.

“I am the High King of Elfhame,” Cardan reminds her. “And I mislike being given orders. You attacked the land. You stole my seneschal and freed my brother, who was imprisoned for the murder of our father, Eldred, with whom you had an alliance. Once, we respected each other’s territory.
“I have allowed you too much disrespect, and you have overplayed your hand.
“Now, Queen of the Undersea, we will have a truce as you had with Eldred, as you had with Mab. We will have a truce or we will have a war, and if we fight, I will be unsparing. Nothing and no one you love will be safe.”
(The last quote is my favourite one, Cardan being the real and true King of Elfhame, that was a long time coming now.)

THE CRUEL KING BY HOLLY BLACK REVIEW

⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.5/5

ONE WORD... FUCK/MINDFUCK

I'M LOVESTRUCK, I really liked this book A LOT, there were so many things to like that I wouldn't even know where to start but I will try the best I can!
So the things I liked the best from this book where the following:
○ JUDE our little warrior, was impossible not to like or love, althpugh, when she was with Locke I wanted to shake some sense into her... But her willingness to be so strong, not to be belittled by others, to push herself harder, to outsmart everyone, she's just and incredible female characters/ heroine, a really powerful woman.
○ the PLOT TWISTS yes there were some few great plot twists here, THANKS HOLLY FOR THAT! One's you could maybe guess throughout the book but others really caught me by surprise, those were the best. And they were so well developed, didn’t felt like it was rushed in any point of the book, which made it even more easy to follow and enjoyable.
○ CARDAN YES!! He's one of the best characters of the book! He really isn't what it seemed at all or at least not completely. He's such an enigmatic and interesting character that I wished we got more insight from him, or a few of his POVs. He's familial relations are truly a mess and this book truly makes honor to the treacherous and vile actions/relations occurred within the Royal Family/ Royal Court. Everyone surrounding the crown is power driven and that was really "beautifully" portrayed in this book, very realistic indeed.
○ The WRITING STYLE was clean and understandable, not any mistakes that I saw or very few at least, the dialogues were well made and they actually made sense!
○ THAT ENDING WAS WOW, FOR LACK OF A BETTER WORD, IT WAS AMAZING, WHAT I WANTED AND MORE! I TRULY LOVED HOW MUCH IT LIVED IT UP TO MY EXPECTATIONS.

Now, after everything why 4 STARS 🌟 and not 5 🌟? Well, because around 50% of the book I had trouble maintaining my concentration/attention in the books, I was quite disconnected to it, it probably had much to do with Jude's escapes with Locke, that weren't very interesting for me though. But well that did happen, so I can't give a FULL MARK.
□ Madoc is such a mysterious character, I really wanted to know more of him, the bits we see of him in this book aren't enough. The dysfunctional family the all are is quite interesting too and gives the book an edge psychological.
□ Valerian & Locke, the characters I hated the most throughout the entire book, I was glad when she got rid of one, if only the other would stop manipulating his way over everyone and everythin...
□ THE LGBTQI 🌈 addition to the book was lovely, Vivi was a funny and lively character, she kind of reminded me to Jude a little sometimes, I liked her relationship with Heather. I hope in the next book they both can be more honest with each other and take the relationship to a deeper level.

After reading this book, I really liked it and I'm going directly for the second in the series. The world of Elfhame is a really interesting one and I wish to continue diving into it.

The book DOES END ON CLIFFHANGER, although is not a very big one, it is one that you may want to continue in the next book The Wicked King.

I highly recommend this book and hope you like it and enjoy as much as I did!!
Happy reading!! ❤πŸ’œ

QUOTES:

I fix him with a look. “I can be charming. I charmed you, didn’t I?”
He rolls his eyes. “Do not expect others to share my depraved tastes.”

He leans in and closes his eyes. “Most of all, I hate you because I think of you. Often. It’s disgusting, and I can’t stop.”
I am shocked into silence.
“Maybe you should shoot me after all,” he says, covering his face with one long-fingered hand.

He rises from the throne. “Come, have a seat.” His voice is replete with danger, lush with menace. The flowering branches have sprouted thorns so thickly that petals are barely visible.
“This is what you wanted, isn’t it?” he asks. “What you sacrificed everything for. Go on. It’s all yours.”

HEAR NO EVIL BY IVY FOX REVIEW

⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5

I read this book a LONG time ago so the details are a bit blurry now, but I will make this review the best I can.

This was Easton and Scarlet's story, the second book in this series, The Society.

I liked this book quite a bit, I didn't love it and I was quite flabbergasted (not in a very positive way in this case) with some things happening in this story.

While I likes a lot of things from this story, I disliked quite a few too.

And which better way to explain that LISTING them.

Things I disliked from this book:

○ To be honest, I really hated around the ending, when all the caos with The Society takes place, I just could not believe what happened. Easton throughout ALL the book was protective of his mother with all his being and at the end he just acts as if he doesn't matter his mother becoming the laughing stock of the town, that was a bit hard to believe to be completely honest.

○ Scarlet, I have a really hard time relating to her character, it's not easy for me to like her (although I also don't dislike her), she was just a walking contradiction herself, she didn’t even know what she wanted for herself half the time... she really frustrated me.

○ I wanted more background explanation from Scarlet past, also from Easton's past it seemed too little and a bit surfaced.

Things I really liked and enjoyed while reading this book, there are quite a few:

□ The friendship between the four, they have this dynamics between them that work and really suits them too. Like Finn and Licoln personalities are similar, while Colt and Easton's are similar too but they are closer the opposite way, Lincoln and Colt and Finn and East.

□ Easton's internal monologues about The Society, Emma, Finn, Colt (this one the most) where sometimes too funny, he was too sassy.

□ Their roundabouts trying to get information on The Society, thinking of recruiting Emma, trying to exclude Stone from their plans, the investigation and extortion part of the book was really interesting and exciting, my favourite part really.

□ The Halloween party was great because there were a lot of clues there that you could really pick up and link together, really exciting this part also I enjoyed how Colt played everyone to his likes.

□ The first meeting of Scarlet and Easton was quite unexpected, in the church with a quite heavily traumatised Scarlet, I liked reading this first meeting and how unruly Easton seemed to be even at a younger age.

The book is a bit fast paced being four books in a mystery series with each book being told from a different POV.

The romance was not for me in this book, I didn’t liked, I also didn't disliked, just so-so, maybe it's because I didn't enjoyed Scarlet...

In overall, I DID LIKE the book, I had a good time and I was really frustrated when it ended because I wanted more of The Society.

I highly recommend this book, it was quite enjoyable and entertaining!!

Happy reading!! ❤ πŸ–€

IN PEACE LIES HAVOC BY AMO JONES REVIEW

 ⭐⭐⭐ 3/5

This was... complicated to say the least, and messy too.

I didn’t find it to be a head fuck but well. Let's go with my favourite, the listing!!

In overall the book idea was good but, the development was... not so great, at least for me.

I rolled my eyes like a hundred of times with this book, A HUNDRED!! That's not a good sign.

Let's start the listing!!

1)Things that I liked:

There are a few, not much but thanks to these I enjoyed a little part of this book.

● I liked the idea of the Romanian folklore, traditions, I have never read a book with a Rominian character and it was interesting getting to know all this new things and new language.

● I loved the FOUR BROTHERS OF KIZNITCH friendship, interactions and their characterisation. All them them were individually interesting and characteristic. I have to confess that Keaton and Kyrin had a really good connection and a very weird sharing relationship, I SHIPPED them from the first second I read all that, (I'm so sad it's impossible now πŸ₯ΊπŸ˜‚). I had fun reading them, to be honest, one of the few things I liked.

● Hello! Great music selection by Amo Jones, in the dances performed in this book.

2)Things I disliked or hated (this list will be a bit longer...):

○ I really disliked the use of sex as a weapon by everyone, from my POV isn't sex supposed to be enjoyed by both/thirds parties involved?

○ The ROMANCE, sorry but NOPE, I didn’t felt anything at all in there, apart from great sex between the H, Kingston and the h, Persephone, nothing else. Sometimes there was even more chemistry with other characters than with the H.

○At some point reading this book I thought I was rereading the Elite King again, with all the hate-sex between the mc's, the secret sibling parentage, the witches/telekinetic/ hypnosis and more "powers", the powerful secret society... do you see the pattern here?

○ Underdeveloped characters with so much pontential. So little was explained about them in this book, and even less of The FOUR Brothers of Kiznitch, hopefully in the others book, they will develop the other H's more.

○ I think I might be growing too old too soon but too much sex just bores me, out of my mind to say the least, I know this was a sex circus and all but even though I just seemed like everything was a little repetitive, the only change in their "sexual life" was the anal sex scene, which was something new.

But everything & everyone was SEXUAL.

Wow, if you go through the review, just how many times does the sex word appears? God, like a lot of times πŸ˜‚

Well summarising everything, this book had it's very boring part but also it's funny parts. So it was a so-so reading.

Will I reread this book again? I honestly don't know, maybe or maybe not. We'll see in the future and it also depends on the other books.

If this is your kind of book then go for it!!

Happy reading and hope you love it!! ❤

P.S. This book was really like Circus Britney Spears MV, just like someone previously said to us.

WRATH BY ELLA JAMES REVIEW

 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5

ARC PROVIDED BY THE AUTHOR IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW

THIS WAS WITH OUT A DOUBT THE BEST ELLA'S BOOK I HAVE READ!

It was long but everything written was perfection and everything made sense. If the book would have been shorter then some parts of their's story would have been left out and that just simply can't happen.

The plot was... how to say this... INCREDIBLE, I cried a lot of times but also laughed a lot other times too. The story was well paces and you didn't felt like the author tried to rush things.

The mains had chemistry (something very important in a romance book), although it was enemies to lovers, it was really romantic and beautiful. Together they really complemented each other.

Miller/Mills/Millsy is an all American good boy, everyone likes him, he's a goody two shoes. Likes to help others, at the beginning he quite dislikes his stepbrother after that first shocking encounter but as time passes by and sparks flies by between them, they can't deny the growing attraction and feelings between them.

Ezra Masters is quite the troubled character, (I personally tend to go towards this type of people) he really isn't what it seems, quite the opposite in this case, with a very difficult past, with a not very understanding and supporting (understatement of the year) mother, he lives his live with a dying wish everyday since a year ago. He's ashamed of himself, scared and lonely.

Ezra's character was possibly the most complex one, with all his ups and downs, and when you start getting little scraps from his past you suffer for him for every shit he has to go through, you understand him and sympathize with him. I really loved this character, I cried the most with him I couldn't anymore with everything going on with him... even towards the end...

I was SO HAPPY TO SEE VANCE AND LUKE again!! I could not believe it, I wanted so much to read that scene in Communion from the boy POV and here it was.

Splendid!!

I really loved this book it touched themes so important these days like LGBTQi community (which receives a lot of hate even now in the 21st century, people should really start to change), mental health (I think this is super important and nowadays it's still a taboo subject in a lot of countries, please let's provide help to those who need it), medical malpractice it's still an issue nowadays and they are being covered by a lot of people/communities in a lot of countries. This book had it all!!

I highly recommend this book!! You really should pick it up!! Happy reading and hope you love it as much as I did!

Thanks Ella James for such a wonderful work, it was truly amazing.

RIOT ACT REVIEW

⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5

 A ROLLERCOASTER THIS BOOK WAS!!

One minute I was laughing my ass off and the next I wanted curl and cry my eyes out. This was an interesting book, though.

I was waiting to read Pax since I read RIOT House and it did not disappoint. Pax was a complex and a likeable anti-hero. And I wrote anti-hero but he could very well be hero, too. Because he classifies as both, he's hateful as fuck, but then at the then he cares A LOT.

This book DOES CONTAIN triggers although there's been some troubles because the author, Callie Hart forgot to put the triggers warnings at the beginning there are some very disturbing scenes in this book, that may be very difficult to read for some, I'll list some of the events:
● Rape by her half-brother
● Beaten Up by her half-brother
● Slit her wrist by her half-brother
● Half-brother almost beaten up to death by Pax
These are mainly the most triggering events of the book, if you're a sensible person then you may prefer not reading this book.

Now, let's go to my favourite part of reviewing, the part that I liked and disliked/hated of a book = THE LISTING!! (I'm fucking smiling right now! πŸ€ͺ)

I'm happy to announce that I enjoyed this book a lot and liked a lot of things, so the list will be longer in the positive side this time, yuhuuu!! Things that I liked and enjoyed:
○ PAX (H), he's an incredible character, he's funny, sassy, an asshole, doesn't let society believes drive him... he's just spectacular, some special guy here!
○ Mother-son relationship, so this may seem weird but i have to confess the crazy banter between them was funny and relatable, I liked their interactions in the present (not his past memories, those were horrible), how they would piss each off, push each other bottoms, how Pax played that stunt with the ashes...
○ The boys relationship was GOLD, I really liked it, they would seem angry at each other but then they would have each other backs, they would take care of each other... And Pax thoughts on his friends where hilarious πŸ˜‚, the BEST!
○ WRENLODIE I liked having a peek to their life together again, seeing how cute they still are and how strong they are still going.
○ In overall I had a lot of fun reading this book, which made reading this book enjoyable and a light reading, I always like when books aren't dragging and LOOONG.

Let's start with the things I disliked or hated, there are a few, but there’s still some:
■ I really have mixed feelings about Presley, something horrible happened to her and she should be healing, asking for help or trying to recompone herself but making as if nothing happened or if the "shadows" aren't there, I really couldn't relate to her, rape and abuse are such important matters. Mental health is of supreme importance in these cases.
■ I personally didn't like that at the end Presley was saved by the hero, Pax, in this case. I truly hoped she would save herself, she would talk to her doctor, her father or the police... I mean women don't need a knight in shining armour to save them. And I hoped Presley would do that, save herself.
■ Again the same as always... what's with the tooo much SEX!! There's 20% plot and 80% SEX WHY?? Why do authors keep doing this?? No romance feelings at all, the sex between them, great, very fluid, very aggressive I must add too but the romance 0.

In overall I DID enjoy/like this book, there's even a high possibility of rereading in the future.
I highly recommend this book to those who can read it and aren't sensible to the triggers. Hope you enjoy and happy reading!!! πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’—πŸ’—

I will leave here some of my favourites quotes from the book.

QUOTES:

"There's something respectable about getting hit in the face a bunch of times. Being Tased is like getting struck by lightning and it's a fifty/fifty whether you piss yourself or not. Fuck it, though, right? You only live once."

She genuinely sounds annoyed that I’m reacting badly to this. But what theactualfuck? “The urn containing my father’s ashes has been banging around in my backpack all day? My dead father? You’ve lost your fucking mind!”

"There's something just plain wrong about Lord Dashiell Lovett IV being so domesticated."

Somewhere upstairs, Wren is painting his next masterpiece. I figured, since he fell in love with Elodie and got all fucking happy on us (or as happy as Wren Jacobi ever gets), his work would change to reflect the shift in his life. His art is still as turbulent and dark as ever, though. The moody blues, black, white and greys still slash and swirl together to create what I’ve always thought to be depictions of the end of the fucking world.

DEAR AVA REVIEW

 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5

This book is my ALL TIME FAVOURITE so maybe I'll sound a little too fangirl here, sorry about that.

Let me explain why I read this book and why I knew when I read it I would like it.

□ Heroine's Dark Past Metamorphosis 》A horrible experience made the heroine, powerful, gain more strength than ever, become more beautiful and be a survivor without letting that define her, just like a goddess of war (war, because life is a war).

□ Mental Health 》Mental disorders like Bipolar Depressive Disorder, Depression, Mental Disabilities.

□ Asshole/ Sweet Hero 》Knox was an asshole but he knew when to be sweet, when to be intelligent and when to be resourceful.

The story develops in ONE timeline, although, there are some flashbacks from Ava to the time of the 'INCIDENT'. The setting is in Senior Year of High School.

The plot development may seem a bit slow paced with the 'mystery' element of discovering what exactly happened at that party but it all makes sense at the end, and a faster pace could have killed the thrill of knowing or not all the mysteries surrounding Knox brother and his friends.

The romance is sweet, steamy and a little between the lines of a slow burn πŸ”₯ romance. With this story I was sometimes crying, feeling too much for Ava, Knox and Knox brother, then other times I wanted to throw the book at someone (feeling violent or frustrated) and there where other when I laughed a lot, there are a few funny touches here and there, spicing things up.

In this book happens to be SEX (most feared word) but well the character development in this book is undeniable, Ava goes from hating everyone and only focused on graduating to start making friends, falling in love, opening up to people actually, being interested in Knox problems and Knox brother.

Knox also experiences a great character development, he goes from hating everyone except his brother to tolerating more people and liking Ava, he mends his relationship with his father, he helps jis brother comes to terms with his past mistakes and his disorder.

Characters:

◇ Ava 'Dear Ava'(17-18), she's a sweet girl, that trying to be popular she went with the wrong people (popular crew), everything went terribly wrong for her in a party her junior year. She was dating Chase, Knox best friend at the time of the 'INCIDENT'.

◇ Knox 'Fort Knox' (17-18), star quarterback, twin brother, motherless and with a non existent relationship with his father, his twin brother is the most important person in his life and he could go through hell and back for him. He fell for Ava the first time he saw her but his best friend called dibs.

He's serious, intelligent, resourceful, sweet, poetic and beautiful.

Reasons why I LOVE DEAR AVA:

■ Just like explained before, Knox is an asshole but knows how to be sweet to Ava and he wrote her secret letters and poems, leaving them in her locker. He also was just the kind of hero who knew to stand up against injustice and tried to look for the truth even against his team will.

■ Ava's strength I everything was just GOALS, I liked how she didn’t give up till the end, how she did the right thing even if everyone was against her. And let's not forget that she looked for revenge when she came back.

■ Hello! The gay friend was just cute and how a true friend should behave, I really liked his character and I could laugh with him and his love dilemma.

■ The writing style, there weren't ANY MISTAKES or very few. The dialogues were well made and they made sense (not like in some books were you don't even know what is happening or what they are even talking about...)

■ How the mystery finally unfolds and how everything gets uncovered, I liked what Ilsa decided to do, I understand why she did what she did and I think I would have done the same, they too needed to know and they too were scared, not like Ava was but in the end he was his twin and he will always be his family.

■ I liked the ENDING how the book didn't end till the END, the EPILOGUE, that was a very unexpected and welcomed surprise, which I very much enjoyed.

■ I read a book to evade myself from reality and be immersed in the fictional world portrayed in the book. In Dear Ava, I read and read, without stopping not realising time was passing by me, that's how much I was attracted by the story.

It was quite an emotional novel to be honest, but very enjoyable.

After all this ranting and an hour later, I highly recommend this book and hope you enjoy like I did!!

Happy reading! πŸ’œ❤
